Lecture and class discussion supporting the material in this assigned reading.

Demonstration or experiment that supports one or more the principles covered in the lecture and discussion.

Small group work that applies the principles covered in the reading, discussion, and demonstration to better understand a real world problem like deciding the kind of water purification system that should be used in a new water plant being built by the county.

The class views a videotape which addresses a chemistry or environmental problem followed by students study groups completing a video study guide.

An occasional quiz or examination will be completed.

Practice problem solving and a summary/ review of the class session.
