Directions to the Smithsonian
The Field trip begins at the Air and Space Museum on the mall. Meet by the escalators near the IMAX move ticket booth.
Since finding a parking place in the mall area, down town, can be difficult, the best way to get to the Smithsonian's National Air and Space Museum (NASM) in by metro.
On the Blue or Orange Line go to the Smithsonian station, use the mall exit. When you leave the subway, you will be on the mall near the Smithsonian "Castle". Head East toward the Capitol, go past Castle, past the Arts and Industries Building, past the Hirshhorn Art Museum and enter the National Air and Space Museum.
On the Yellow Line, exit at the L'Enfant Plaza stop. When you leave the subway, you will be off the mall. Head North to Independence Avenue (about one block). The National Air and Space Museum will be across Independence Avenue on your right.
