Chemistry 300

The Chemistry seminar examines the history and development of Chemistry from ancient times through the modern era. Students will prepare and present reports to the class on areas of interest as well as those assigned by the instructor.  Wherever possible, demonstrations, activities, and lab experiments will be performed that duplicate those done by famous alchemist and historical chemists.  Depending on their nature, these experiments will be performed in class and at home with readily available material. Students will become familiar with there challengers and problems that faced mankind as the science of chemistry was developed.
