Each of my class documents and exercises will generally require Adobe Acrobat

If you do not already have this free software, it can be easily downloaded at no
charge from
Adobe by clicking on either of these links.
Syllabus for GO 130, Astronomy. This course will develop a new way for students to view and understand the world in which we live. The scientific method and critical thinking skills will be developed while studying the subject of Astronomy. Read the syllabus to learn more about the course and its format.
Collaborative Learning and Study Groups. Much of the course will be conducted in study groups. Click on this link to download a Adobe Acrobat file that will help you understand how this will work. All students will be expected to support their study group by reading their assignments, making assigned observations, and participating in class activities.
Make-up Activities. Students are expected to attend all class sessions. However, if you are sick or have to miss class to go TDY, a make-up activity will be required. Download the file for details. Make-ups are usually more time consuming and difficult than attending class.
If you would like to learn more about the constellations and wish to explore the universe on your computer, consider getting an Astronomy package like Starry Night. Click below for more information.
