Course Learning Objectives:

By the end of this course, the student shall be able to: 

a. Apply the theories and concepts of high-level information system concepts, technology, applications and the development and management of information systems. 

b. Explain how the rapid advances in computer hardware, peripherals, storage, and software have affected the information technology industry. 

c. Analyze the implications and effects of telecommunications technologies, such as the Internet, Extranets, and Intranets, on end user support, workforce collaboration, and e-commerce.

d. Identify uses of effective information technology and apply them to solve various business problems and to gain strategic advantage in the marketplace. 

e. Describe the security and ethical issues facing information managers today and the impact these issues have on the uses of information technology within the workplace.
